I was a bit reluctant as spending this much on what I considered to be a glorified green flashlight. The ND3 is much more than that and well worth every penny if you really need a green laser designator. The range and distance is incredible. The more you widen the beam, the less distance you get. Some folks like to adjust it to fit the field of view in their scope. If you need some serious range, a smaller beam that is still visible in your scope works just fine. If you have a genuine need or just plenty of disposable income, don't hesitate and get one already.
