Good news: This product can actually work well and do the job it promises to do - if you're lucky.
Bad news: The technical support from this company borders on the criminal.

It took me more than 6 weeks of emails, phone calls and pleading to get X-Rite to finally give me a little piece of information that was not included in the on-screen procedures, nor in their help file. The pattern of their tech support is: you call - they tell you to send them the profile so they can diagnose - you send profile - you never hear from them again - you call - they tell you to send profile again - you send again - they never get back to you - you call - they tell you they will call you back - they never do. They are absolute irresponsible clowns when it come to customer tech support.

The little piece of info that would have solved everything finally came as an off-hand suggestion during one of my many phone conversations with them: There is, in the file menu (which has no obvious purpose), a "preferences" which has a drop down to change from ICCProfile Version 4 (the default) to Version 2. This is all that was needed in my case. I will never forgive these fools for neglecting to mention this in their documentation and putting me through weeks of broken promises and refusal to follow up in their communications.

You may argue that I should have looked there. Given how their software works - it 'walks' you through each step - there is no reason to go to a file menu, nor to expect preferences to be there, nor to change the defaults - which a new user has no way of judging anyway. I will try to add a screenshot of that preferences drop down for future victims.

Also, there is a sub-program (accessed from the main screen of the software), called Color Picker which uses the Munki to read any color off surfaces. Very handy, but it doesn't work on one of my two computers. After their usual routine of failing to return calls and answer emails for some weeks, I was finally told they don't know why it doesn't work.

Finally, I was promised a rebate of $50. But after making the purchase, I am informed that I can't get the rebate because I live in a rural area where the P.O. does not deliver so I have only a P.O. box for mail. They have a (well-hidden) rule that they will not send the rebate to a P.O. Box. I wonder how many $50 rebates they keep with that little scam. They will not inform me of the reason for that rule and will not justify revealing it AFTER the sale.

I hope never to deal with these people again.
