First, the problem I had. This camera has two-way audio capability but I have been lacking in fortune getting it to work. Activating audio out at the NVR results in a garbled mess of audio with small patches of recognizable sound. I have attempted numerous adjustments but cannot get the audio to be anything beyond a garbled mess. The noise reduction feature is a normalization process, but normalizing garbage just results in refined garbage. Audio has been a failure in both of the units I bought, but I use them outdoors so it is not a pressing issue for me.However, the video quality is exactly what I was expecting, and is the principal reason I purchased the cameras. The infrared is outstanding as each camera's IR emitters is capable of illuminating my entire yard (suburban home, so not massive, but definitely a sizable area for IR light to cover).
Installation instructions included in the box could be more descriptive, though. I bought some FE110s along with these and those were pretty much self-explanatory, but the VD120s are more complex, but the included instructions weren't sufficient for me. I had to refer to GeoVision's website, which fortunately provides videos of the installation process for their cameras. Word of [minor] warning: the video instruction on their site is for the in-ceiling mount only. I used the hard mount method for which there was no instruction. It's not brain surgery but there are a couple things you need to figure out for yourself if you use the hard mount.
Overall, would buy again.
