I like this thing a lot. But be aware that there is a somewhat noisy, separate ballast. In fact, the first one I got was an Amazon Warehouse deal and besides the fan noise in the ballast it made a pretty loud buzzing sound. So I got the full-price item and apparently it just has the fan noise to deal with (we'll see in time!)
Haven't used this for a shoot yet but it does have a lot of power and I'm looking forward to using it, esp. for say, an outdoor night shoot. Shadows are pretty hard; the included softbox-material cover does a decent job of diffusing.
If someone finds a nice barn-door rig that fits this please let me know! I tried one by the same company with a Bowens adapter but it's too big (cheap tho so I may try to adapt it.)
