This bag kicks serious butt!

I had a Nikon DX body and upgraded a year ago to a FX body (Nikon D3) and things wouldn't fit into my Kata back pack or my Domke F3X well anymore, the camera body was too big.

I needed room to have a Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8G ED VR II AF-S Nikkor Zoom Lens For Nikon Digital SLR Cameras mounted to the Nikon D3 12.1MP FX Digital SLR Camera (Body Only), and I felt I had few options. I looked at the Retro 30 and Retro 20 - went with the 20 as it looked less wide than the 30.

And boy was I right - I can stuff a Nikon D3 mounted with a 70-200, a 24-70, an 85 1.4, 50 1.4, and a SB900 with ROOM for cards, an externally mounted tripod, and a few little items. It'll be heavy as all hell.

Nice thing about this bag when not using for a shoot, is it can hold the following when I go on a plane for a vacation: my D3 mounted with a 24-70, a small camcorder, my Mac Book Pro 15" in the inside pocket, and keep me looking indescript when travelling foreign lands.

Other nice additions:
1. Nicely padded bottom. Padding in the separators as well. No padding on the rear or front of the bag.

2. The Velcro Silencers are amazing when you don't want to make a "ripping" sound when opening and closing the flaps frequently.

Will it hold a full day's worth of shooting equipment? Probably not, it'll get too heavy. . .I have a Domke J1 for that :-)
