I used this set for the first time today and it works great.The lighting is very good (was able to shoot 50mm f/8 at 1/30 iso 800 with just one light)1/30 is by no means what you wish to have as a shutter speed for portraits,but i was just testing the limits with one light.I used this setting as a middle area just to make sure i had plenty of room under 800 iso.The stands are sturdy and well made for everyday use,they are also spring loaded.Most complaints about the flimsyness of the light heads when attached to the stands is because most people dont remove the rubber cover located at the top of the stand,if you dont remove this, the light head doesnt sit down on the stand where its suppose to be so please remove rubber cover when attaching light head.putting the softboxes together primarily the hood is a serious pain the butt.Once its together its done so if you plan on breaking them down again from place to place,forget it.You will need a space to store them because like i said you wont be taking them apart and putting them together again,trust me.The bag really is useless because the heads wont fit back in there unless you take everything apart again,i use it to keep the stands in.My conclusion: If you are a just starting out and want a nice professional looking with plenty of light kit and dont need to break it down alot then this is a great kit to practice on.The light is soft and filling and will give you very pleasing results.Like everything else if you take care of it,you will have it for many years.
