Sigma 70mm F/2.8 EX DG Macro Lens for Nikon Digital SLR Cameras Review

I've never been a big fan of Sigma Zoom lenses, but their prime lenses are top notch. I've been using the Sigma 105mm and 50mm macro primes on my Canon full frame bodies so I decided to pick this lens up for my Nikon D300 to give me a 105mm equiv lens for that system.

In a nutshell, this lens is fantastic. It is very sharp corner-to-corner on my Nikon D300. It is sharp wide open at f/2.8 and stays sharp up until about f/11, where it starts to soften just a bit. Lens construction is very sturdy and typical of the top-end sigma primes. Autofocus speed is adequate but not as fast as the best Nikon lenses. It also makes a little more noise when focusing. Manual focusing is excellent with a very smooth and precise feel. I really like this lens and it may be one of the sharpest prime lenses on the market. I highly recommend it.

This bundle is a very good option if you want to make professional pictures at a low cost.

The D5100 is high quality in pictures! Effects, intervalometer, easy access to options, rapid processing, low noise even at ISO 3200, very handy. Camera body is intermediate quality.

The 18-200mm lens is awesome, you don't need to carry more lens. Its quality is really good (Mine doesn't have the barrel problem mentioned in blogs about auto-extending). The only disadvantage is the weight almost a half kilogram! :P

The 32Gb SD memory it is perfect. You don't worry about space anymore.
The case is very good. The design is not so fancy but its quality is good.
The UV filter works for me as a protector for the lens.
The remote works good.
The tripod is not made the best quality but it is better to-have-it than not-to-have-it.
The cleaning kit is OK, I think it is a nice to have, just in case.
The LCD protector sticker is a joke, because you have to cut it at the right size.
The card reader: I don't use it.

This one has all the best technology of Sony camcorders and more

Why to buy this one

1. Picture quality is superior, full 1080P which many other Camcorders have but the color quality is the best

2. The sound is 5.1 with wind sound reduction (we tried it outside in a windy day and it did a great job)

Opteka CXS-2 Dual-Grip Video Shoulder Stabilizer Support System with 15mm Accessory Rod Review

Wasn't too sure about this thing when I first saw it, the price is crazy cheap. After reading some of the reviews, I was willing to take a chance because it was so cheap. I've wasted more on things that were supposed to be top of the line, so why not. Got it in 2 days which was great because I wanted to have a chance to check it out before I needed it the next evening. Have to say I was pleasantly surprised. Was much more sturdy than I thought it would be. All the materials seem to be worth much more than the price would indicate. Putting it together wasn't difficult at all, took only a few minutes and I had a camera mounted and was ready to go.

Tried it out with a 5D with a 70-300 zoom I had, and also put an EX-1 on it as well. Had to raise the mount all the way up the shoulder pad as the EX-1's rear was hitting it, but that was fine. Could still see the viewfinder well and it wasn't uncomfortable. I also had the weight on it which really really helps. For a cheap price it was a big plus, so I suggest getting one of those. I'm a bigger guy so when I had it all assembled, it literally sat on my shoulder with good balance, although for smaller people, I would put a thick towel or something over your shoulder and then the rig, only to wrap tighter around your shoulder and back area, although you may not want that. Only other major issues I had was the guide screw instead of a pin on top of the platform, but I guess it's nice that it's a screw because you can take it out. With it in, the DSLR bodies rested on it and kinda kinked it upwards a hair. The EX-1 was fine because the screw acted as the guide pin. Other thing was the extension arms that flare out to the side for a monitor, etc. It's only hand tightened with a round knob and it never really gets completely tight. I had to hand tighten it at an angle that I didn't want, then pull it completely tight to where I did want it. Not a huge thing, but if someone was using it that didn't know that, it would easily come loose and who knows what might happen.

Is this a top of the line end all product, no, but for the price and for what you get, I would highly recommend this for dslr users and the EX-1 type video cameras.
