To produce a hardly and brilliant spot effect light, the external and internal diffuser can be removed. Received the 39-inch Rotalux a week ago. It took 10min to unpack and set it up. Instructions are clear and straightforward. Good build quality materials.
Results are stunning as compared to my square Elinchrom softboxes. More "punchy" and 3D-like accents on face as compared to "flat" look provided by regular softboxes at the same (close) distance from the subject. When placed far from subject, shadow differences between Rotalux and regular softbox diminish, but Rotalux due to large size gives better and more even overall lighting. Nice round catch light in eyes is a good bonus and another plus/advantage for Rotalux.

I'm very satisfied and it's going to be my key light in the studio from now on!
