First of all, let me just say that this sight has been very nice so far. I've taken it to the range a couple of times now on a Ruger SR-556C. I didn't give it a 5 star though. I'm going to give you a some pros and cons that might help you if you are considering a reflex sight. Pros: no batteries needed, uses fiber optics (lifetime warranty) and tritium which has a 12 yr warranty! Construction quality is very durable, aluminum housing. Zeroing the sight is easy which is nice since the sight was nowhere near "factory centered" like the manual says. Brightness is perfect in full sunlight or no light at all. The TA-51 mount supplied is easy to finger tighten. I liked the looks of the lever style mount but couldn't justify $150 more. Cons: The MOA is a bit large at 6.5. Trijicon makes a 4.5 MOA model that runs at a considerably higher price even though retail price is the same. Depending on your target the entire bullseye can be covered by the dot at 50 yds. As intended, this is a short range quick aim sight. So, if you want to be precise at 100yds or more make sure you get a smaller MOA. Doesn't come with a hard storage case, a little disappointing for the price. There was no lenspen in the factory sealed box as advertised by the seller and Trijicon website. I called Trijicon and they told me to email them about this, haven't yet. FYI if you are thinking about a killflash it's one of the most expensive due to the 42 mm size. Also there is no bikini type protective cover available either. Overall this is an excellent amber dot sight. However, I would recommend for rifle applications over 50yds to go with a smaller MOA sight like the less expensive smaller 24mm 4.5 MOA version that Trijicon makes. Also, the 24mm reflex has a killflash that sells for around $35 compared to the 42mm version at $110. Another small feature that is only available on the smaller sight is the dust cover. I wish I would have had an opportunity to actually get my hands on both of these before I made a purchase. Additionally the smaller sight adds a triangle dot if you prefer. I hope this helps!
