Product Description
SanDisk Extreme UHS-I cards let you get your best shot with speeds over 10 times faster than ordinary memory cards. With write speeds up to 60MB/s (16GB to 128GB) you can take advantage of advanced functions such as fast action shots, continuous burst mode, and multiple frames per second. With Class 10 and UHS Speed Class 1 (U1) video ratings you ll be ready to capture cinema quality 3D and Full HD3 video (1080p), which require more performance than ordinary cards can handle. Engineered with Ultra High Speed bus architecture, this card delivers speed and the highest video performance available to maximize the power of your advanced camera or DSLR. Available in storage capacities from 8 GB to 128 GB with transfer speeds up to 80MB/s to save time downloading from the camera to the computer. Up to 80MB/s read speed; up to 60MB/s write speed. Based on internal testing; performance may be lower depending on host device. 1 megabyte (MB) = 1 million bytes. [short version of underlined text: 1MB=1,000,000 bytes].1GB=1,000,000,000 bytes. Actual user storage less. UHS Speed Class 1 designates a performance option designed to support real time video recording in UHS-I enabled host devices.SanDisk Extreme 128 GB SDXC Class 10 UHS-1 Flash Memory Card 80MB/s (SDSDXS-128G-AFFP) Review
The only speed rating stated on the card itself is 80MB/s. Wow. Unfortunately, this is a little misleading. That's the read speed, not the write speed of the card, which is quite a bit lower. If you're like me and want to use this in a camera, the write speed is the important one; this is the metric which dictates how quickly a camera can save files onto the card and how quickly you can use your camera again. The 80MB/s is for speeding up copying files from your camera to your computer if you have a USB 3.0 card reader. I use Transcend USB 3.0 Super Speed Multi-Card Reader for SD/SDHC/SDXC/MS/CF Cards (TS-RDF8K).If you need it, the card, like all Sandisk Extreme products, comes with a copy of RescuePro Deluxe, a software which allows for recovery of images, videos, documents, music, or just about anything on the card.
I've attached a benchmark of the card using the above card reader in product images.
