The Samsung EX-51855 lens is a great upgrade to the Samsung 20 - 50 mm lens which comes with the NX2000 compact system camera.

It achieves a much quicker and sharper focus than the 20 - 50 mm lens with no compromises on the image quality. The lens also comes with OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) which works great even in low light situation. The lens also has the same length in the retracted position which is great for storing in my existing camera case. One thing to be aware is that the lens diameter is 58 mm, which means that we would need to consider a new set of filter since the Samsung 20 - 50 mm lens is 40.5 mm in diameter. However, the EX-51855 lens mechanism does not rotate during the focusing which makes it a lot easier to use with the polarizing filters. The lens package also comes with a lens hood and a storage bag.

I think Samsung should have used this lens as part of their NX2000 compact system camera package. It would have made the camera perfect.
