The ScanMaker i800 plus offers best-of-class digital imaging quality such as 48-bit color, 9600 x 4800 dpi optical resolution, High Speed USB connectivity, a 8" x 12" transparency adapter, 4 versatile EZ-LockTM holders for 35mm slides, 35mm filmstrips, 4" x 5", and 120 film up to 6 x 17cm panoramic. This Dual-Media reflective and multi-format film scanner also integrated ColoRescue Technology which automatically maps, identifies, and eliminates surface defects on photos and film, and restores faded film and photos. This system would provide automatically nine different functional scanned images on the screeen for users to ignore tedious and boring steps to choose their needed image. Brightness and Contrast By adjusting the brightness and contrast of scanned object, the scanned object can be more sharpen and clearer. Multiple Sampling Multiple Sampling is a process in which the scanner samples each line in the image a number of times, then obtains an average to reduce random noise. Auto Color Restoration The Automatic Color Restoration feature is part of Microtek' s ColoRescueTM system for bringing faded colors back to life. Descreen Descreen feature can remove moire patterns when scanning pictures or photographs printed in magazines or newspapers.

Microtek ScanMaker i800 Plus LED Review

I have had the i800 for three years and on many occassions it has stopped working and caused all my USB ports to freeze. I have installed it on a Dell, a compaq, an Asus, an MSI, and an EVGA motherboard. If I have the scanner plugged in then none of my USB ports work. If I uninstall the scanner software then they all magicaly come back to life. Contacted tech support in 2009, 2010 and 2012. Most recently they continue to say this is the first they have ever heard of it. So I sent them links to three other reviews claiming they had also contacted tech support with this same issue.

Their tech support will lie to get you to go away - afterall they have your money. I rather not have a scanner at all then have theirs.
