We bought these binoculars for game viewing in Africa. In this price range, these are by far the best binoculars we looked at. They have a wide field of view, pop into focus very quickly, and work well in low light. They are small enough for our 3 year old to handle. We really liked the Monarchs, but they were a bit out of our price range. The only major difference between the Monarchs and Excursion though is that the Monarchs pop into focus just a hair faster. These binoculars definitely work well above their price range and are easy to use on the field because of all the feature mentioned above.
