This camera is a great buy and has numerous features that I was impressed with. I give it an enthusiastic 4 stars, deducting one for the crappy touch screen.

I'm very happy with the purchase. For an occasional user, it's a worthy buy and I'd buy it again.

Pros:
+ Amazing low light recording. On video, the scenes actually seem brighter than in real life.
+ Great HD recording. Looks great on my TV.
+ Sound is great, although I haven't been recording concerts. YMMV.
+ Slow motion recording is slick and useful for sports analysis.
+ Image stabilization is very good and the video is well stabilized.
+ Motion detection is also slick, although I don't have much need for it.
+ LED for recording in dark conditions.

Cons:
+ Touch panel is not great. It works, but sometimes requires more than one touch.
+ Menu system is poorly done. Menus could be more intuitive and easier to allow more direct access to the functions that are most useful.
