I purchased the item because of Bushnell's reputation and the description of the item. Upon on my preliminary test, I noticed that the images were blurry to the point of not even recognizable (low light and with IR assist). Rather than to assume it was defective, I contacted Bushnell (very receptive and helpful technical support) and they recommend that I return the item. I was almost tempted to get a refund and look at another model or brand but I'm willing to give the product one more try.
Aside from the image issues, the product does seem to be well constructed. I hope to update the review with some better news once I get the replacement.

**Replacement update** 10/25/2011
The replacement item was received from Amazon as part of a seamless exchange. The product has thus far exceeded my expectations. What you do have to be careful with is the focus adjustment on the front lens. The part of the lens that is supposed to focus is tightly screwed in from the factory which predisposes you to back off the other two sets of threads that hold on to the front assembly. Once you get the focus sorted, the image quality is spot on. From a distance of 15 yards I could make out the grain pattern of the wood swing set.
For the price, it does the job.
