Overall, the rucksack is extremely well built. There are enough different compartments to keep memory cards, extra batteries, cords, etc. easily accessible yet seperate. I don't carry a laptop, but like the laptop storage area for travel documents & important papers. The top storage is nice for those items that you want with you while you travel. Phone, keys, headphones, medicine, and other small personal items. The fabric, zippers and closures are very tough and I anticipate will last a long time w heavy use. It carries well as a backpack and feels well balanced. The straps don't 'creep' like some other bags so I'm not constantly adjusting them, which is nice. My only complaint, so far, is that I wish it were just a bit deeper. I carry a pro SLR (Cannon EOS 5D mark III w battery grip) and although it fits, it's a real tight squeeze. I also like to keep my 600 EX speedlight w me. The bag is not quite deep enough to put it in vertically, so I have to put it in horizontally which burns up a lot of space. I am not able to carry a pro grade lens of any size because of this, but I did get the bag for lighter traveling and they do call it the 'medium' rucksack so that is why I gave it 5 stars vs 4. It does fit under the plane seat in front of me, and I'm not sure it would if it was any deeper.
